Romans 3:22 - We are made right in God's sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins.
Rom 3:27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on our good deed. It is based on our faith. So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.
Romans 3:31b - In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law.
Romans 4:17 This happened because Abraham believed in
the God who brings the dead back to life and who brings into existence what didn't exist before.
Romans 5
1THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
2Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God's favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.
3Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance.
4And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation.
Romans 7:6 - But now we have been released from the law, for we died with Christ, and we are no longer captive to its power. Now we can really serve God, not in the old ways by obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way, by the Spirit.
Romans 8
Life in the Spirit
1 So now there is no condemnation
(Condemn:
1. to express an unfavorable or adverse judgment on; indicate strong disapproval of; censure. 2.
to pronounce to be guilty; sentence to punishment: to condemn a murderer to life imprisonment. 3.
to give grounds or reason for convicting or censuring: His acts condemn him.
4.
to judge or pronounce to be unfit for use or service: to condemn an old building.) [I am favorable, and approved of. I am NOT guilty, and I am not sentenced to a life of punishment. I am fit to be used by God and am worthy to be a service to Him. Thanks to the power of the life-giving blood of Jesus.]
for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
2 And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.
3 The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.
4 He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.
Romans 12:6 - God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well.
So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out when you have faith that God is speaking through you. If your gift is that of serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, do a good job teaching. If your gift is to encourage others, do it! If you have money, share it generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a fit for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
Romans 12:12
Be glad for all GOD is planning for you. Be patient in trouble, and always be prayerful. When God's children are in need, be the one to help them out. And get into the habit of inviting guests home for dinner or, if they need lodging, for the night.
